TYCA SE Seeks Contributors for Forum

1/15/2006

Dear TYCA colleagues:

I am seeking contributors for the fall 2005 issue of FORUM, and I’m hoping that you will consider writing for this publication and that you will pass the word to your colleagues, especially adjuncts in your department.

FORUM is published by the Committee on Contingent, Adjunct, and Part-time Faculty (CAP) of the Conference on College Composition and Communication. FORUM publishes news items, book reviews, editorials, and articles related to non-tenure-track faculty in college English or composition courses. FORUM is published twice a year, appearing in the September issue of CCC and the March issue of TETYC. Back issues of FORUM are available at http://www.ncte.org/groups/cccc/forum.

Possible topics might include personal experience (good and bad), the need for particular kinds of training for adjunct instructors, and examples of English departments that treat their adjuncts particularly well. I’m also especially interested in hearing about the experience of adjuncts teaching online courses both at their home institutions as well as at a distance. Article length can range from 1000-1500 words. I’d like to receive articles by March 1 since this will be my first issue as editor, but this deadline is flexible.

Please contact me if you might be interested in writing for FORUM or can recommend possible contributors.

Thanks,

Evelyn Beck
